Larve & Bestial Mouths (2010 synthpunk CRO/ USA)

to most of you these two bands are already old news. Larve from croatia -basically a riot girl/mutant synth band- went and split after this ep to form another band...and Bestial Mouths from Cali already have some new releases after hissing veil and are headlining this year's drop dead festival. But the sound and the renovation they bring to the synth table (so full of boring minimal and bad screamers clones)  is so much noticeable that we had to have them here.Each band of these 2 deserves to have it;s individual release and infos and everything but seeing that this is the last upload of this blog before the dreaded summer break, we wanted to cram in  as much music as possible...So ..play it again, Sam.

She Past Away (dark wave TUR 2010)

These are our great gothic rock neighbours from Turkey. Someone please bring them here immediately. The sound is true 80's , kinda Sister-esque but no Cassandra bullshit.  And they build some serious atmospheres with their synths and effects. Cold dark wave indeed. 5 stars

"She Past Away is a new wave / post punk band from Bursa, the opposite shore of the Marmara, formed by Volkan Caner (vocal/guitar) and Idris Akbulut (bass) in 2006. With the live participation of Doruk Ozturkcan in electronic drums, the band was totally shaped by the end of 2009.
Clashing gothic lyrics with buzzsaw guitars, allegedly broken vocals and sensory drum effects, the band evokes the cavernous experiments of darkwave era with the likes of The Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus and Suicide.

After a long demo-recording session, in 2009, the duo joined to Remoov Records in which they began to work on their debut release with Süpermatik.
The common characteristic of their live performances is that they combine their well-positioned rawk tunes and harsh textures with paranoia-inducing industrial visuals, which are created by Asli Narin.
Mixed and mastered by Süpermatik, the debut album is going to be out in May, ."

Dark Souls Day - X-Lives (2010 Gr gothic rock)

These are Dark Souls Day..greek gothic rock from Thessaloniki,of "all the pretty little mutants" fame ..They have released their EP, and it's worth a listen, if you like your music dark with guitars!

And this what they have to say for themselves:

“X-Lives”, the debut album of the greek band Dark Souls Day, dovetails with all releases that were influenced by Post-Punk and Independent Music of the 80s and 90s. The album encloses 7 songs, which are worth to be dicovered and heard.

Dark Souls Day was founded in 2004 by the musicians Nikos and Pepi. Nikos, who’s been playing with some different bands in the past, devoted himself to music production owns a small home-studio, where already some albums originated. To instance just one of his most important productions: “No Land For Escape” by the band Laissez Faire.
Pepi writes lyrics and backs up the common band-project by her vocals. The songs “Electrify” and “No Time” both already could be heard in a movie named EKOSTRAKISMENOS (THE EXILED) by Nick Samaras (Crazy Greek Productions). The song “Dark Love” also will be captured on celluloid soon too, as it is going to be heard in Nick Samaras new movie “CONSPIRACY OF BLOOD”.
The album “X-Lives” was published in april 2010 on the Subexistance Productions label and now they will introduce it to a broad public by putting it up as a free download – licensed under Creative Commons – in collaboration with afmusic starting November 22nd 2010.

Monozid - Say Hello to Artificial Grey & Bootblacks (2010 Ger post/punk)

This come straight form the band itself, folks, and these guys got it together!

Leipzig-based Monozid have been playing since 2003, and they've become

quite the experts in post punk sounds. 

They are also quite dedicated to keeping the corpse that the DIY scene is on its feet, and they themselves suggested their records for uploading...

if only more bands like MONOZID wanted to be heard, and if only moar bands had relevance...

Well that's as good a wish as any for 2012...

Το παρόν είναι ένα Ανθολόγιο Ουρλιαχτών, βλέποντας τις ώρες που περνούν και χάνονται - την ζωή που μάταια εκπνέει. Είναι μία σχιζο-προλεταριακή κραυγή απέναντι στην κοινοτοπία της καθημερινότητας, που σαν τοίχος πλακώνει την ύπαρξη μας. Τα ρολόγια σημάνουν το τέλος του έρωτα, όμως οι κραυγές πίσω από τους τοίχους, ξυπνάνε τους δαίμονες που με τις κολασμένες επιθυμίες τους φέρνουν το χάος. Οι αιχμάλωτοι πάνθηρες βλέποντας τον ουρανό, ορμάνε στα κάγκελα και ματώνουν τα χείλη τους. Γλύφουν το αίμα τους και ορκίζονται εκδίκηση. Μαζεύονται, αναπνέουν βαθιά και ετοιμάζουν την απόδραση τους. Γίνονται ένα με το μαύρο της νύκτας, περιπλανώνται στους δρόμους της αλητείας για να σκαρφαλώσουνε στους άβατους ουρανούς και από εκεί να πέσουν ως η πύρινη σκόνη των αστεριών στην στοιχειωμένη πόλη… για να ποτίσουνε τα αγριολούλουδα που σπάνε το κράσπεδο, τα άνθη που μυρίζουνε οι χαρούμενοι δολοφόνοι, πριν βγάλουνε την φρικτή τους κραυγή!!! .... Οι SVM’s πρωτο-συναντήθηκαν στις αρχές του καλοκαιριού του 2007. Δρόμοι ανθρώπων παράλληλοι, που ούτε καν οι συμμετέχοντες, το περίμεναν ποτέ πως θα φτιάχνανε όλοι μαζί μπάντα. Αν και με διαφορετικά ακούσματα, γουστάρανε και αποφάσισαν να το συνεχίσουνε. Αποφάσισαν ο ήχος να μην είναι αποκλειστικά 80’s death-rock, αλλά να αφήσουνε τον εαυτό τους ελεύθερο και να παίξουνε. Η φιλοσοφία είναι μουσική με την αλητεία του punk, αλλά σε πιο σκοτεινό, ψυχεδελικό, space, psycho, artistic, death ύφος, όχι αντιγραφή των ‘80s, αλλά μία νέα περιπλάνηση στους χαώδεις διαδρόμους της έκφρασης. Όσον αφορά τα «πολιτικά», περά από το ότι είμαστε μπάντα ψυχικής έκφρασης και όχι προπαγάνδας, αντί για φανφάρες και στιχουργικές μεγαλοστομίες, το μόνο που έχουμε να πούμε είναι ότι: Είμαστε περήφανοι και χαρούμενοι, διότι αποτελούμε ενεργά μέλη σε μία σειρά από αυτοδιαχεριζόμενα - κατειλημμένα studio τα οποία όσο και πάνε και εξελίσσονται. Η ριζοσπαστικότιτα βρίσκεται στην καθημερινότητα. Από εκεί και πέρα, γράφουμε για ότι θέλουμε, αισθανόμαστε και μας εμπνέει. Μετά από πολλές ευχάριστες στιγμές, αλλά και πολλά προβλήματα (άσχετα με την μπάντα) που προέκυψαν καταφέραμε να κάνουμε κάποια live και να γράψουμε αυτό το demo – ανθολόγιο ουρλιαχτών.
